Bainbridge Island is one of only 20 communities to win a multimillion dollar federal grant designed to help homeowners and businesses retrofit existing homes to achieve lower energy costs. To implement this, the Conservation Services Group will assess homes and give them a list of upgrades and retrofits. This assessment is a step towards eligibility for a low interest loan program funded by the grant. Additionally, Conservation Services will give out some small free upgrades like low-flow shower heads and fluorescent light bulbs.  To see the original article visit
