Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association

Bainbridge Island Fire Department and Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association are often mistakenly believed to be the same organization. Though both entities work diligently to provide emergency services to the citizens of Bainbridge Island, they are, in fact, two very distinct organizations. Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association ('BIAA') is a non-profit organization that provides emergency and non-emergency basic life support (BLS) transport services. BIAA is primarily funded through transport service fees and the generous donations of our Island citizens though "One Call for All". BIAA and the Fire Department work very closely together. BIAA provides tremendous training opportunities for those interested in emergency medicine, many of whom serve the Island as Firefighter/EMTs through the Fire Department, while providing transport services through BIAA. The Fire Department utilizes BIAA as its primary agency for BLS transports. Additionally, BIAA rents office and garage space from the Fire Department.
