First-time homebuyers nearly half of all sales

MSN Real Estate wasn't exaggerating when we said that first-time homebuyers now are getting VIP treatment from real-estate agents who for years had focused more on move-up buyers and other big spenders.

A survey by the National Association of Realtors found that first-time homebuyers made up 47% of all home sales from July 2008 to June 2009 -- up from 41% the previous year, and the highest percentage since the group began the survey in 1981. Maureen
