The West Sound Wildlife Shelterprovides injured, orphaned and sick wild animals a second chance at life and promotes the well-being of wildlife through public out reach, education and involvement. An important part of their mission is helping humans live in harmony with wildlife. This includes providing information about safe and enriching ways to interact with wildlife and ways to avoid wildlife-borne diseases as well as stories about some of our recent patients. Their important work relies on the energy, dedication and continued wisdom of volunteers, participating veterinarians, staff, associate state licensed rehabilitators, and board members. Volunteering can take on many shapes such as sponsoring an animal, making your property a release site, donating items from their wish list purchasing a 2010 calendar and more. Bainbridge Island is lucky to have such an important organization in our backyard!Maureen
