As summer draws to a close it's time for the last few rides of year. So it's road check the road glide jump on, catch an early free breakfast at
Seattle Harley, not often you see "free" at a Harley store, and it's been a long time since the "store or point" was a bike shop, and putt up to Anacortes for the
Oyster Run. I'm not sure why these events are called runs when for the most part there's a lot of standing around and no riding to speak of, but be that as it may, the weather was spectacular, plenty of bikes, a few lid checks by the WSP, of course I'm totally compliant with this huge HD mushroom, vintage 1999, and a good ride. While I prefer to ride alone there is something to be said for the rumble of a pack ride and assuming, there's not someone in the pack who desires to die on his scooter, the ride and approach into town can be cool. It's been a few years since my last
Oyster Run and it seemed that back in the day the run was tolerated by the city but now is embraced by the community. I suppose this is good but there's something not quite right about grandma's quilting a scooter throw. Back early enough to catch dinner with the kids and their mother and back to the island not long after dark. It's good to catch that autumn scent even if it means soon the bikes will be up for the winter. Later,
