Bainbridge Island's Senior League team lost their final outing of the year at Bremerton this past Friday in a rout that left everyone wondering how The Islanders had managed two wins against this team earlier in the season. Coach/manager Roger Lauen remarked "we couldn't get any offense going and we made a bundle of errors; not a winning formula" There were a few solid performances, shortstop Rich McDonald made a nice double play in the 5th inning and newcomer Barry homered in the 6th with two on base but the Bainbridge highlights were too few and far between. Bremerton hammered the openings with line drives and got a solid performance from their infield.
All was soon forgotten and forgiven during the post-game picnic hosted by the home team. The camaraderie felt between these rivals was evidenced by the intermingling of the team members at all the tables.
