Doc's Bainbridge Island History
Doc's Marina Grill is located in one of the last old historic working waterfront buildings on Bainbridge Island. It has been named many times... as a tavern, starting with the Yodeling Oyster to it's current incarnation as a restaurant known as Doc's Marina Grill. There are not many of the older generation Islanders still around, but those who are, fondly remember it as Mac's. The area was a sort of Bainbridge Island’s Cannery Row.. One of the infamous events at Mac's was the beer fights. The Men’s restroom boasts a giant working periscope —offering a panoramic view of Eagle Harbor.
Bainbridge Island Real Estate Update
12 homes closed in January with prices ranging from a modest $182,000 to a $1.1 million waterfront home. Buyers have been actively looking but many are waiting for the spring inventory to
materialize. Short sales and bank owned properties continue to skew the sale figures to lower pricing than many sellers of non distressed properties have so far held out for. Available new
construction homes now number only 17. The homes range in price from $675,000 to $1,600,000. These homes are where some of the bargains seem to be with many list prices at 30% below where thewere initially offered at 12+ months ago.

Prairie Home Companion on Bainbridge Island
For more than 35 years, legions of fans have tuned in to Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. Each week, A Prairie Home Companion is heard by more than 4 million listeners of every age, on more than 600 public radio stations across the country. The show is performed live on stage in front of an audience. In a first for the show, on Thursday, Feb 4th, a performance of A Prairie Home Companion at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, MN, will be broadcast live in H-D exclusively to movie theaters across the U.S. and Canada. PAWS of Bainbridge Island
The Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Bainbridge Island is an independent nonprofit organization that has provided animal welfare services to the people and pets of Bainbridge and North Kitsap since 1975. A completely volunteer-based organization, PAWS features low-cost spay/neuter and veterinary financial assistance for pets of low income residents of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap, a lost and found pet registry, a pet adoption program and a Pet Food Bank that makes cat and dog food available through four food banks on Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap County. CHILLY HILLY With chilly February weather and 2,675 feet of Hilly climbing, the name says it all! Chilly Hilly has been kicking off the cycling season in the Northwest for the past 36 years. The course for this 33-mile ride is open from 8am to 3 pm.
